KBLI 47 Updating Survey 2020

In 2020 the BPS conducted an update of the company / trade business in 2020 by recording all Retail Traders (Category G KBLI 47) included in the scale of medium and large businesses. The update of the company / trade business in 2020 was carried out in all provinces to photograph the transition from the retail merchant business based on the data collection of SE2016. The results of this activity are expected to produce samples in research conducted with trade.Trade is an activity of buying and reselling the same goods without any change in form for profit. Special trading activities distribute goods from producers so that they can be used by end consumers. In trading activities, sales can be done by large traders who sell large parties or wholesalers who sell directly to end consumers.Large traders help in selling goods from merchants to wholesalers, but not more than meeting with big entrepreneurs who sell directly to end consumers. On the other hand, retailers also assist in trading goods to end consumers such as manufacturing, other business activities (such as hotels and restaurants), or households. In everyday life, retailers represent businesses closest to the household, because this is where consumer goods can be freely traded freely.In line with the development of the industrial revolution 4.0, retail traders in Indonesia are quite volatile, marked by the steps determined by retail outlets which are questioned by the increasing electronic commerce through the internet media. Based on the Bank Indonesia Survey, the projected retail sales in the third quarter of 2019 will slow down compared to the previous quarter. Retail sales in the third quarter of 2019 grew 1.8% per year, lower than 4.2% in the second quarter 2019.1 Therefore, retailers need to do to obtain the latest data on retail traders in Indonesia.
