Population is the power of a country. The population size is used as the basis for all state policies. So that Law no. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics and PP. 51 of 1999 authorized the Central Bureau of Statistics to calculate this strength through the Population Census. SP2020 noted that 77.77 percent or around 94 thousand residents live according to the Family Card (KK) *). Meanwhile, 22.23 percent or about 26 thousand other residents do not live according to KK. This number indicates the large number of residents of Bukittinggi who have migrated from their previous residence because they no longer live at the address recorded on the Family Card (KK).
