Statistical activities such as surveys are not only carried out by BPS, but can also be carried out by other government agencies. In accordance with PP. 51 of 1999 concerning the Implementation of Statistics, sectoral statistical survey operators are required to report statistical activities to be carried out to BPS. After being reported, BPS will provide recommendations whether the statistical activity is feasible or not to be continued. One of the objectives of the reporting is to complement the National Statistical System (SSN), so that statistical activities will not duplicate statistical activities.
