The accuracy of statistical information is reflected in the extent to which the information is able to accurately describe the existing phenomena. This illustration is known as the degree of closeness of estimates to true values. Meanwhile, reliability reflects the consistency of the truth of statistical information from time to time.
To create accurate and reliable statistical information, there are at least three principles that must be met in the quality assurance framework.
First, data sources, data integration, and statistical outputs must be periodically assessed and validated. Second, measurement, evaluation and documentation of sampling error is carried out. Finally, if it is necessary to revise statistical data/information, an adequate study and analysis must be carried out.
