Did you know, in measuring poverty, BPS uses the concept of the ability to meet basic needs (basic needs approach).

Where with this approach, poverty is seen as an economic inability to meet basic food and non-food needs as measured from the expenditure side.

Based on the results of the March 2021 Susenas, the percentage of poor people in the city of Bukittinggi is 5.14%, which is lower than the percentage of poor people in West Sumatra Province with a percentage of 6.63%.
