Comparison of General Inflation and Inflation for Food, Beverage and Tobacco Groups

In the last three months, out of 11 (eleven) expenditure groups, general inflation in the City of Bukittinggi has been strongly influenced by inflation in the food, beverage and tobacco groups. The inflation rate shows the same trend. The general inflation rate for the City of Bukittinggi moves from 0.39 percent (December 2020) to 0.30 percent (January 2021) until it experiences deflation in February 2021 at 0.11 percent. Likewise, the inflation rate for the food, beverage and tobacco group showed a relatively similar movement. This happened because of the sizeable contribution of the food, beverage and tobacco groups to general inflation.
