Developments in the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Group's Inflation Rate

The inflation rate for the food, beverage and tobacco category during January to June 2021 fluctuated. In February and June 2021 this group experienced a decline in the price index. However, when viewed by calendar year, the food, beverage and tobacco group experienced an increase in the price index with an inflation rate of 1.03%. Meanwhile, the year on year inflation rate (June 2020-June 2021) for this group also increased by 3.17%.

The food, beverage and tobacco groups have a relatively large share of inflation in general. As seen from January to June 2021, the pattern of rising inflation rates for this group is the same as the general pattern of rising inflation rates.
