Implementation of the Rice Retail Sales Volume Survey (SVPEB) 2021

Rice is a staple food for most Indonesian people. Rice consumption continues to increase every year along with the increasing population of Indonesia. The amount of rice consumption has a big effect on the calculation of the inflation weights.

Every year BPS conducts 2 surveys of the Rice Retail Sales Volume Survey (SVPEB). For the City of Bukittinggi, SVPEB was carried out in Pasar Aur and Pasar Bawah during the period 7-18 June 2021. This survey resulted in data on the volume of rice sales for each type of rice sold in the market in Bukittinggi City. The type of rice with the highest sales volume will then be sampled in the Consumer Price Survey.
