Geospatial Framework Update Activities & Statistical Work Area Contents 2022

Currently, the Geospatial Framework & Contents of the 2022 Statistical Work Area Update is still underway in the context of Preparation for the 2023 Agricultural Census Implementation (ST2023)

The 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) will be carried out again by BPS in 2023. One of the efforts to achieve quality data is the availability of an up-to-date statistical working area master framework (wilkerstat). Given the dynamic changes in SLS from year to year, updating activities are needed to obtain quality wilkerstat. Updating the Geospatial Framework is also carried out through the preparation of agricultural land cover classification maps so that they can be used more broadly for various agricultural statistical needs.

As recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the preparation of this classification map is carried out by utilizing remote sensing technology combined with the process of taking coordinates from land cover samples to produce more effective agricultural statistics.
